After a few years of good service, our kitchen wall clock stop working. I wanted to understand the cause and it gave me an excuse to open it and find out what was inside. I had nothing to lose! I opened the plastic casing and had a good look inside. I noticed that the contacts on the circuit board where power from the battery is applied, were slightly corroded. Cleaned the contacts on the board and proceeded to reassemble the clock mechanism. Installed the battery and away it went ticking.
